Committee

Phelan Yu, Editor-in-Chief
Phelan is a graduate student in physics at Caltech, specializing in ultracold matter, quantum sensing, and precision measurement. He builds experiments to test theories about fundamental symmetries of the universe. A transplant from the Northeast, Phelan spends his free time hiking, reading, and being confused about the seasons.
Skyler Ware, Managing Editor
Skyler is a graduate student in chemistry at Caltech. She studies batteries and chemical reactions that are driven by electricity. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, playing tabletop RPGs, and reading science fiction.
Aditi Narayanan, Editor-at-Large, Founding Member
Aditi is a graduate student in Biology at Caltech. Her interests include interactions between microbes and their environments and scientifically informed public policy.
Nicole Wallack, Senior Editor, Founding Member
Nicole is a graduate student in Planetary Science at Caltech. When not studying the atmospheres of distant planets she is frequently seen ranting about the importance of the New American Cinema movement as an influence on modern film.
Namita Sarraf, Senior Editor
As a graduate student in Bioengineering, Namita spends her days thinking about DNA computers that can process information, make decisions, and maybe even learn. Her favorite activities include drinking tea, pretending to be a musician, and waiting in line at the latest hot LA brunch spot.
Jordan Thompson, Editor
Jordan is a Chemistry graduate student in synthetic organic chemistry. Originally from Calgary, AB, he came to California to avoid the extreme subzero temperatures. When not running reactions in lab, he can be found playing hockey, lifting weights, or baking delicious treats.
Sara Dibrell, Editor
Sara is a synthetic organic chemist aiming to better human health one complex molecule at a time. In addition to her graduate studies at Caltech, she enjoys backpacking and exploring the LA food scene.
David Goertsen, Editor
David is a graduate student in Bioengineering, focusing on designing new tools for gene therapy. Outside of the lab, David spends his time lifting weights, watching horror movies, and reading fiction.
Sarah Zeichner, Graphics Director
Sarah Zeichner is a PhD student in geochemistry, working to better understand the origin of life through her research. When she is not in the lab, she can be found running in the San Gabriel mountains, experimenting with new recipes, creating art, and gardening.
Sharon Chen, Analytics and Website Design
Sharon is a graduate student in Social and Decision Neuroscience, exploring the neurocomputational basis of emotion and behavior, and its changes in psychiatric disorders. She made a novel-writing website and has written a novel on it, she loves reading and games, and she is a fan of BTS.
Krittanon "Pond" Sirorattanakul, Social Media Manager
Motivated to understand and eventually mitigate seismic hazards, Pond studies a newly-discovered form of earthquake known as a slow earthquake, which has prolonged duration up to a few years. His hometown of Bangkok, Thailand, a city with the best food in the world, gave him a love of cooking.
Ren Marquez, Photography
Ren is a graduate student in geochemistry. He is interested in the early solar system and the deep sea. Originally from the Philippines, he is constantly cold and on the lookout for bigger blankets or any other ways to keep warm.
Annika Dugad, Website Design and Management
Annika is a graduate student in physics interested in quantum information and gravity. She spent most of her life in Illinois, where she obtained her bachelor's degrees and developed a fondness for cornfields. In her spare time, she enjoys walking to the nearest bubble tea shop and listening to music.
